Track Title: Building Bridges for Community Mental Health Support for
Seniors
Date: 16 July 2025, Wednesday
Time: 2.05 PM
Breakout Session: Track 3 – Inclusive Workplace & Community
Synopsis
Community mental health support plays a crucial role in promoting well-being
and preventing mental health challenges. By fostering a network of care
through the CREST and Active Ageing Centre ecosystems, seniors are provided
with accessible resources, support systems, and a sense of belonging. This
includes outreach initiatives aimed at raising awareness and early detection
of mental health issues, educational programmes, peer support groups as
well as case management and counselling services. These community-based
mental health programs empower seniors to seek help early, ensuring timely
interventions and reducing the long-term impact of mental health issues.
Collaborations amongst stakeholders create an environment where mental
health isprioritised, and people feel safe discussing their challenges
without fear of judgment. This ultimately creates a space where seniors
can thrive emotionally, mentally, and socially.
