Dr Chris Tan

Dr Chris Tan is the Chief of North Region and Program Director of Aged Psychiatry Community Assessment and Treatment Service at the Institute of Mental Health Singapore. He also serves as Deputy Program Director of Community Mental Health Treatment. His work focuses on transforming mental healthcare delivery through innovative programmes such as IMH@Home and various community-based initiatives. Dr Tan serves in several national-level workgroups, including the Community Mental Health Resource Network, and advises on several hospital programmes including suicide prevention and community care models. He has spearheaded multiple projects to enhance care coordination between hospital and community partners, particularly in geriatric psychiatry and complex care management. His contributions to healthcare have been recognised with awards, including the NHG Young Achievers Award and the NHG Team Recognition Gold Award for his collaborative work in community mental health.

care approaches. The talk emphasises practical strategies for healthcare
professionals and community partners, incorporating insights from neuroscience
