Dr Nikki Lim Ashworth

Dr. Nikki Lim-Ashworth is a Senior Clinical Psychologist at the Child Guidance Clinic, Institute of Mental Health. She was awarded the Ministry of Health NMRC Training Fellowship and earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University College London, UK, in 2016. She is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with the British Health and Care Professions Council. With over a decade of experience, Dr. Lim-Ashworth specialises in working with children and adolescents facing a range of mental health challenges. She has a particular expertise in ADHD, providing support not only to young individuals but also to their families. Her clinical interests focus on evidence-based treatments for childhood ADHD and their practical application in healthcare settings. Dr Lim-Ashworth has co-authored several research papers on ADHD and child mental health, as well as contributed to numerous research studies, including large-scale clinical trials investigating the effects of omega-3 supplementation and neurofeedback interventions on ADHD outcomes. Currently, she serves as one of the co-leads in the revision of the Singapore Clinical Practice Guidelines for ADHD. Beyond clinical work, Dr. Lim-Ashworth is actively involved in tertiary academic teaching, educating undergraduates in medicine and psychology.

Synopsis
The talk will examine ADHD care starting with essential statistics from
a local specialist ADHD service to highlight significant trends including
the profiles, functioning, and parenting stressors among young persons
with ADHD and their families, and treatment outcomes. Further review will
be done on the assessment and intervention available to adults with ADHD
in Singapore. The talk will round off with a discussion on the emerging
best practices shaping ADHD care in young persons and adults.
